ReDiscover Union

In 2022, Mayor Robert Schmuke, created a 9-member ad-hoc advisory committee to focus on downtown redevelopment.  

In February 2023, the committee transitioned to a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation and settled on the name "ReDiscover Union".    While the main focus of the group is downtown (or uptown) Union, the goal is to promote all of Union.  

In January, 2024, The City of Union was awarded the Missouri Main Street Empowerment Grant through a partnership with Missouri Main Street Connection (MMSC).  MMSC will provide ReDiscover Union and other Union community leaders with training and mentorship sessions for the next two years.  Training sessions will be customized towards the community's needs and future needs to ensure a vibrant downtown culture.
